Daniela Cappiello - Soprano - W Print

Born in Piano di Sorrento in 1990, she started her study very young at the Conservatorio "G. Martucci" in Salerno, graduating with honours and special mention in 2012. She later specialized in opera singing at the "G. Frescobaldi" Conservatory in Ferrara under the guidance of Cinzia Forte.

She is the winner of numerous international opera competitions, including: "Pasquale Pappano" in Benevento, "Toti dal Monte" in Treviso, "Santa Chiara" in Naples and "Maria Caniglia" in Sulmona. As a winner of the "Toti dal Monte" she made her debut in the role of Lisa in La Sonnambula in Treviso, directed by Francesco Ommassini, a performance later staged in Ferrara and Ravenna.

In the past seasons she partecipated in L"Elisir d"Amore in Bologna, Le nozze di Figaro in Salsomaggiore Terme and various opera concerts in Bergamo, Piacenza, Bologna and Ferrara. Other engagements include: Die Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Teatro Duse in Bologna and Comunale di Modena; Adina in L"Elisir d"amore at the Festival Illica di Castell"Arquato; Suor Angelica (Suor Genovieffa) at the Festival Puccini di Torre del Lago; Gilda in Rigoletto at the Festival Verdi in Busseto; Elvira in L"Italiana in Algeri in Treviso and Ferrara and received public and critical acclaim for her performance as Rautendelein in Respighi"s La campana sommersa at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari.

Also of note were Suor Osmina in Suor Angelica at the Teatro S. Carlo in Naples and in Cagliari; Musetta in La Bohème at Torre del Lago; Mendelsshon"s A Midsummer Night"s Dream in Ravello with the Orchestra della RAI di Torino conducted by James Conlon; Falstaff at the Lirico di Cagliari; Blonde in Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail in Ferrara and Treviso and Naples; Frasquita in Carmen at the Terme di Caracalla; Pergolesi"s Stabat Mater in Ravello and with the Enea Barock Orchestra in Rome; an opera concert opposite Gianluca Terranova in Ephesus with the Izmer State Opera and Ballet; L"Olimpiade di Leo (Licida), Die Zauberflöte, Les Contes d"Hoffmann and Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the San Carlo in Naples; Rigoletto at the Regio di Parma opposite Leo Nucci and then in Chisinau, Modena, Ferrara, Lucca and Udine; Die Zauberflöte at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin and Düsseldorf; Le nozze di Figaro (Barbarina) at the Opera di Roma conducted by Stefano Montanari in a new production by Graham Vick; 7 Minuti, a new opera by Giorgio Battistelli at the Opéra di Nancy; La Sonnambula at the Regio in Turin and in Düsseldorf; Thamos at the Massimo di Palermo; Carmina Burana in Rome, Cagliari and Livorno; Il Barbiere di Siviglia, The Telephone and L"Italiana in Algeri at the Filarmonico in Verona; the debut in Il Turco in Italia in Sassari; Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro in Lucca and Pisa; Lisa in La Sonnambula in Düsseldorf and Amina in Massy and Compiegne; soprano soloist in the Easter concert in Ravello and Princesse Eudoxie in La Juvie at the Regio di Torino. She made her debut at the Arena di Verona in Carmen and was also engaged in Mahler's ‘Fourth Symphony’ in Benevento and as Musetta in La Bohème in Cagliari.
In the coming months she will be engaged in productions of Carmen at the Arena di Verona; La Bohème in Macerata; Silvia Colasanti's L'ultimo viaggio di Sinbad at the Teatro dell'opera in Rome and Cenerentola at the Filarmonico in Verona.
